Ron Artis, Ph.D., LPC, LMFT - Counselor, Therapist, Coach

Education
I have earned a B.A. and Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin and a M.Ed. from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (L.M.F.T.)

Training
I provide Cognitive Therapy, Marriage and Family Therapy, Executive Coaching, Leadership Training, Career Counseling and Life Design, College advising and mentorship at the undergraduate and graduate level, Advanced Re-decision Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Dream-work.

Area of Specialization
Change in our lives is inevitable. The transition periods between times of stability in our lives are more common then we often care to admit. These transitions can trigger stress, anxiety, depression and other current and long standing psychological issues. I started my clinical practice in 1989 in Austin, Texas and specialize in helping adult individuals and couples who are experiencing transitions due to significant changes occurring in their lives.

Other Areas of Specialization

  • Blended families - Along with my wife LeAnn (L.P.C., L.M.F.T.), we have successfully raised four daughters in a blended family setting, giving us the first hand experience of the trials and tribulations of raising children in today’s world. Based on our training and experiences as parents and stepparents we provide counseling sessions for families, blended families, and couples who are working on their relationships.
  • Leadership - I have advised the University of Texas Leadership Board and taught a leadership course at the University of Texas at Austin for over 5 years I have also coached and consulted senior management and business leaders in the Austin area for over 15 years.
  • Mothers and Fathers - I have worked extensively with men and women who are dealing with issues related to their parents both living and deceased.
  • Men's Issues - I have worked with men in the areas of relationship development, parenting, career changes, anger management and spiritual development.

L.P.C., L.M.F.T. internship/clinical supervision for licensure.
I am board certified to supervise graduate students who are seeking internship supervision for L.P.C. and or L.M. F. T requirements. I also provide personal psychotherapy for L.P.C., L.M.F.T., MSW & Psychology interns.
